Blackmire Tannery

Location Gold Market, Vi

A dye and tannery business on the south edge of the Gold Market in Vi-Upper. Small, humble, and long-standing — more worn than sinister at first glance. Owned by Harlan Blackmire and Lessa Blackmire, who were coerced into cooperation by Stillforge through the kidnapping of their daughter Harriet Blackmire.

The shop front is a legitimate showroom of leather samples and carpets. A concealed hatch in the back room leads to a cellar, and through that to a full underground workshop — dye vats, chemical cauldrons, hanging leather, and Stillforge holding cells. A delivery cart behind the building (bearing the Blackmire name) was used to transport kidnapped Tideborn; dried blood was found on the rear.

The party infiltrated during Session 6–8. Two Stillforge guards in copper skull masks were stationed below. A third saboteur escaped via a prepared trapdoor exit; his escape route bore Soot & Ash marks. The party rescued three Tideborn prisoners (two kobolds, Mira Softwhisk) from a locked side room. A trapped chest hidden under loose floor tiles contained key evidence: a seizure directive signed by Magistrate Elowen Draith, Stillforge manacles, three green vials labeled "Batch 14C," and a document confirming the premises were officially exempt from searches.
